Saddle up, we’re cycling to Paris – KidsOut Charity Cycle

KidsOut – the fun and happiness charity – is a cause that is close to our hearts here at Space & Time. This year two of us have decided to don the Lycra and get in the saddle to help raise vital funds for them, as part of their inaugural bike ride to Paris.

On 11^th May 2022, Chris Jones and Dom Hart will be cycling a total of 330 miles, across four consecutive days, from Leighton Buzzard in Bedfordshire to Paris in France. This will certainly be a test of determination and physical endurance, but it will all be worth it if we can help raise a huge total for KidsOut.

Space & Time have been a long-standing supporter of KidsOut and the incredible work they do, helping victims of domestic abuse and those living in refuge across the UK.

Each year more than 20,000 children flee domestic abuse to seek sanctuary in refuge, often arriving with nothing but the clothes on their backs. Children in refuge are effectively living in a state of lockdown until they are moved to a new home far away from the abuser and their friends. This is taking an even longer time at present due to the ongoing impact of Covid-19.

In collaboration with partner charities and supporters, KidsOut works to remind these children what it means to have fun and what is it is like to simply be children.

Just imagine as a child, if you’d never received a gift, or toy, or been for a day out – how would you feel? If you constantly live in fear of abuse and cried yourself to sleep? This is why the work KidsOut do is so important and why we need to keep on supporting them as much as possible.

Through their life-changing work, KidsOut gives disadvantaged children positive experiences to help support these children and give them hope for a better future.

But we must do more.

When Space & Time found out about this incredible opportunity to support KidsOut at their most recent fundraising evening in March, we jumped at the chance to raise funds in such a unique and challenging way.
